The cream of world football gathered in Zurich yesterday to celebrate the magnificent FIFA Ballon d’Or 2015 Gala. Lionel Messi and Carli Lloyd ultimately emerged as the night’s biggest winners, while Barcelona coach Luis Enrique and US national team coach Jill Ellis were each recognised for the first time as FIFA World Coach of the Year for Men’s and Women’s Football respectively.
Fans cheered on the evening’s stars both before and after the Gala - but the praise and congratulations were not confined to Zurich as Twitter buzzed with talk of football’s biggest award ceremony. FIFA.com kept an eye on the social media site throughout the day to bring you a chronology of FIFA Ballon d’Or tweets. Many amusing messages were posted and you can enjoy them now yourself.
